In line with its vision and academic philosophy to support and enhance the educational journey for engineering specialties related to the healthcare sector, AlShaab University, through the College of Engineering and Information Technology, Department of Medical Instrumentation Techniques, organized a workshop titled "Developing Essential Practical Skills for Medical Instrumentation Engineers." The workshop was held in collaboration with Blue Sail Company on Tuesday, June 4, 2024, in the central library hall of the university.
Assistant Professor Dr. Bilal Rashid Abdul Majeed, Dean of the College of Engineering and Information Technology, delivered a welcome speech, highlighting the university's continuous efforts to equip students with the necessary skills to compete in the job market. He emphasized the importance of the Medical Instrumentation Techniques specialty as it bridges the medical and engineering fields. Dr. Bilal also pointed out that the university will continue to hold workshops, training courses, and summer training programs to improve student performance and enhance their scientific and practical skills.
Dr. Osama Hamza Al-Fatlawi from Blue Sail Company addressed the audience, stating that the workshop resulted from joint efforts and cooperation between AlShaab University and Blue Sail Company to elevate the academic levels of students, develop their practical skills, and provide them with the required expertise to prepare them for the job market.
The workshop featured a short video presentation introducing the activities of Blue Sail Company, followed by a lecture on the private sector of medical devices by Engineer Taha Hamza from Blue Sail Company, explaining the details and basics of summer training. Dr. Osama Hamza then gave a lecture on the medical aspects of the ECG device, covering its operation, troubleshooting, maintenance, and usage indications.
Practical training sessions for students from the Department of Medical Instrumentation Techniques focused on the spectrophotometer and ECG devices. The training involved opening and operating the devices, explaining the circuits, and diagnosing faults, under the direct supervision of engineers Taha Hamza and Fahd Ahmed Dawood from Blue Sail Company.
