Under the guiding principles of “Skills and Education” and in line with the University’s mission statement, the Department of Financial and Banking Sciences in the College of Administrative and Financial Sciences visited the Iraq Stock Exchange on Monday, May 8, 2023. First-year students for the academic year 2022-2023, accompanied by faculty members from the department, got a first-hand look at the stock market and its role in the national economy. The students received practical training in the brokers and investors hall on the mechanisms of the market's work in trading securities (stocks and bonds) and on its electronic platforms. The students gained further insights from the trainers during the session through questions and discussions, demonstrating the academic benefit of linking knowledge to the labor market, which directly embodied the motto of the University, “Skills and Education”.
