AlShaab University President Meets Civil Defense Center Director to Discuss Fire Protection Systems on Campus

AlShaab University president Dr. Yusef Khalaf welcomed Colonel Louay Abdel-Amir Jaafar, Director of the Civil Defense Center for Dora and Sayyidiyah, on Tuesday, March 14 to discuss campus fire protection systems at the university.

The discussion included the possibility of fire response training for employees to equip them with skills that will eliminate or minimize causes of fire or fire hazards in the workplace, and to teach them proper emergency and evacuation procedures in the event of a fire.

The Colonel also reviewed the University's fire protection system and its equipment, both of which take into account weather conditions in Iraq and ease of use by university employees, as well as the functionality of the University’s fire sensors and their response time.  The Colonel praised the University’s commitment to fire safety and protection, and he wished continued safety to all students and workers. Dr. Yusef Khalaf also thanked the Colonel for his visit to the university and for his evaluation of the University’s fire prevention policies and equipment.
