Prof. Dr. Yousif Al-Dunainawi, President of AlShaab University, took part in a significant panel discussion titled "Innovation and Technological Advancement", as part of the Smart Iraq workshop: Leveraging Data Transmission to Foster Economic Growth and Technological Advancement, organized by Al-Waha Company in collaboration with the American University of Baghdad on Thursday, September 19, 2024. The event was held under the sponsorship of the Ministry of Communications and the Iraqi Engineers Syndicate, with the attendance of a distinguished group of specialists and academics.
During the session, Dr. Yousif emphasized that Iraq's innovation environment is not yet fully mature to achieve national developmental goals, despite noticeable improvements compared to previous years. He highlighted that Iraq requires legislative reforms and practical strategies to promote innovation, support talented individuals, regulate assistance for startups, and provide broader backing for the private sector.
Dr. Yousif praised the discussions during the workshop as enriching and inspiring, expressing his gratitude to the organizers for their continuous efforts in supporting Iraq’s digital development. He also extended his thanks to all participants and contributors who supported and engaged in the workshop’s activities.
