In an ongoing effort to enhance and develop students' personal skills and strengthen both their academic and practical capabilities through specialized workshops, the Skills Kitchen at AlShaab University continued its activities on Saturday, 31st August 2024. The event took place in Room 36 of Building C, with the attendance of the University President, Prof. Dr. Yousif Al-Dunainawi, the Administrative Affairs Vice President, Prof. Dr. Khamees Abdullah Ali, as well as several faculty members, university staff, and students.
Saturday's activities included a developmental workshop titled "Creating Professional Presentations," led by Assistant Professor Dr. Bilal Rasheed Abdul Majeed, the Vice President for Academic Affairs. Dr. Abdul Majeed emphasized the university's commitment to organizing specialized workshops that enhance students' abilities in effective communication and delivering clear and persuasive messages. He highlighted the importance of using presentations to simplify complex concepts and clarify key ideas through the use of visuals, charts, graphs, and text, which in turn enhances audience understanding and engagement.
During the workshop, Dr. Abdul Majeed covered the essentials of what makes a good presentation, the best software tools available, and how to effectively integrate technology into presentations. The workshop aimed to equip students with the knowledge and techniques necessary to improve their communication skills and overcome challenges when presenting, revealing key strategies for delivering impactful presentations. Given the demand for such skills in the job market, this training is particularly valuable for students' future career prospects.
Participants in the personal skills development workshop will receive skill certificates from the University's Continuing Education Center, which will complement their academic qualifications and improve their chances of securing employment.
