Under the theme "Towards Sustainable Development Governed by Peace and Good Governance," Ms. Khansa Mohsen Mohammed, lecturer and head of the legal department at AlShaab University, participated in the Fourth International Scientific Conference titled "The Role of Law in Sustaining Peace, Establishing Justice, and Building Strong Institutions." The conference was organized by the University of Mosul – College of Law, from July 10th to 12th, 2024.
Ms. Mohammed presented a research paper titled "The Constitutional Protection of Sustainable Environmental Development," in which she highlighted the importance of constitutional protection for sustainable environmental development and its connection to various aspects, whether natural, human, or economic. She pointed out that these aspects have become part of the human rights system, ethics, and international law. Furthermore, the interaction between these factors has led to the formation of new obligations, which are now recognized as rights to be fulfilled for future generations.
