Assistant Lecturer Ames Mohamed, from AlShaab University's College of Administrative and Financial Sciences, participated in the Second International Conference on Digital Transformation for Sustainable Development. The conference, organized by the Colleges of Administration and Economics at the Universities of Gilgamesh, Aliraqia University, University of Misan, Jordan's Jerash University, and Turkey's Istinye University, in collaboration with the Iraqi Association of Accountants and Auditors and the Federal Integrity Commission, took place from June 30 to July 1, 2024.
Ames Mohamed presented a research paper titled "Digital Transformation and its Impact on Banking Operations - A Study of Selected Private Iraqi Banks." The paper aimed to explore the rapid advancements in digital transformation in modern banking, the significant challenges faced in adapting to evolving business mechanisms and tools, and the importance of digital transformation in banking operations. It also discussed how banks can transition from traditional to digital processes to keep pace with modern globalization.
The study concluded with several key recommendations: Expanding banking products such as Point of Sale (POS) devices and electronic wallets. Encouraging the Central Bank of Iraq to issue regulations mandating the development of banking services. Enhancing banking operations through artificial intelligence and smart computer programs. Relying on foreign expertise in information technology to improve Iraqi banks' digital infrastructure.
