AlShaab University participated in a panel discussion on the topic of "Iraq’s digital future and cybersecurity in cooperation with Al-Shaab University" held on the sidelines of the Sixth Baghdad International Dialogue Conference organized by the Iraqi institute for dialogue on Saturday, February 24, 2024, at the Al-Hakim Hall, University of Baghdad. The session was attended by the President of the Republic, several ministers including the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Naeem Al-Aboudi, prominent figures, ambassadors, and experts. The dialogue session was moderated by Prof. Dr Yousif Al-Dunainawi, President of AlShaab University, and featured the following speakers:
- Dr. Ammar Hussein Mohammed, from the Prime Minister's Office as an advisor on artificial intelligence affairs.
- Mr. Tareq Al-Jubouri, from the First Iraqi Bank.
- Dr. Alaa Jasim, from EarthLink Telecommunications Company.
-Dr. Abeer Al-Najjar, from the American University in Sharjah.
The session covered several topics and important questions focused on the importance of digital transformation, the seriousness of the Iraqi state in accelerating digital transformation processes, and its implications for society and government institutions. It also addressed Iraq's geographical location and its role in the new digital era , as well as the introduction of digitization in financial policies and the main challenges facing it. Furthermore, it discussed the state's efforts to make Iraq a pioneer in the field of artificial intelligence by adopting real strategic projects, promoting digital critical culture, and incorporating educational curricula with scientific materials on dealing with the digital reality to contribute to Fortifying the country's internal front.
