On behalf of AlShaab University, Dr. Youssef Khalaf Youssef attended a symposium on the Japanese educational experience, the upbringing of youth, and the protection of community security held by the Enki Foundation for Studies and Research.
Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Hisham Al-Alawi, Advisor to the Prime Minister Hamid Al-Maliki, heads of a number of departments in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the cultural attache of the Japanese Embassy in Iraq, university presidents, professors and specialized instructors were in attendance.
The symposium was attended by the Japanese Ambassador to Iraq, Futoshi Matsumoti, reviewing the most prominent features of the Japanese education system, the elements of its success, and the possibility of benefiting from it to advance the educational system in Iraq. He expressed his country's readiness to help Iraq through the educational policies and development. The Japanese ambassador presented an Iraqi case study on the School of Values, which was inspired by the Tokacho approach in Japanese schools. Its director, Dr. Alaa Al-Amiri, gave a brief explanation, as well.
The symposium culminated in a set of recommendations that would serve the education sector and support the creation of effective educational policies.
