AlShaab University participated in the Iraq-UK University Dialogue organized by the British Council in collaboration with the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research. The event was attended by the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Naim Al-Aboodi, and senior officials from the ministry and universities including Baghdad, Mustansiriyah University, Mosul, Kufa, Babylon, Middle Technical, AlShaab, Al Mustaqbal, and Al Maaref.
During the event, the President of AlShaab University, Prof. Dr Yousif Al-Dunainawi, met with representatives from British universities including
Sussex University
Bradford University
Liverpool University
Liverpool John Moores University
Newcastle University
and others. The discussions focused on joint research initiatives, academic exchange programs, the development of educational programs, capacity building, aligning with global academic trends, enhancing training programs, and facilitating postgraduate studies at British universities.
On the sidelines of the forum, visits were made to the Iraqi Embassy in London, where they met with Ambassador Mr. Jaafar Al-Sadr, and to the University of London, where they engaged with a group of researchers and scientists. The central theme of the dialogue was academic and scientific cooperation between Iraqi and British universities in teaching and training. Preliminary agreements were reached to establish cooperation memorandums under the auspices of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and the British Council.
