Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Al-Aboudi, honored over a hundred individuals who were winners of the fourth edition of the Al Ain Iraqi University Award for the year 2024. The awardees included pioneering researchers, top university achievers, researchers with high-impact studies, authors of influential books, and distinguished academics. The ceremony was attended by members of parliament, deputy ministers, as well as the President of AlShaab University, Dr Yousif Al-Dunainawi, Iraqi university presidents, directors-general, faculty members, and researchers.In his speech, the Minister emphasized the importance of scientific research in addressing developmental challenges. He also highlighted that the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research has set a strategic goal for its institutions related to the quality of the academic environment, strengthening the publication space in reputable journals, establishing global partnerships with indexing and international publishing institutions, launching open accounts for faculty members, researchers, and students in reputable databases, and adopting successful policies and decisions to incentivize scientific research through direct financial and moral support, as well as initiating the establishment of central scientific laboratories.The Minister added that scientific research is at the forefront of the Ministry's priorities, emphasizing its vital role in service development and achieving comprehensive progress. He stressed that the decisions and policies adopted in this regard aim to enhance motivation for producing quality research, encourage innovation and development, with the aim of serving society.
