Department Overview

One of the vital departments at AlShaab University is a rare specialization that is related to medicine, as it combines engineering and medical aspects. It is one of the important fields needed by society, especially for individuals with special needs who suffer from limb weakness or deficiency.The study in this department focuses on meeting the future needs of prosthetic engineers and industrial supporters in the field of developing, manufacturing, and designing prosthetics and supportive devices that meet the community's need for these devices, materials, and various engineering examinations. The duration of study in the department is four years, during which students are equipped with the theoretical and practical knowledge and skills necessary for their qualification. The curriculum plan includes specialized engineering and medical courses, in addition to general requirements.

Admission Entries

The department accepts graduates of preparatory studies in their scientific branches (Biology and Applied), as well as graduates of the industrial branch (Electronics and Control – Medical Devices). Additionally, the department admits the top ten students from the Institute of Medical Devices.

The goal is to prepare engineering professionals with scientific qualifications and standards in the field of prosthetics and industrial supports to work in healthcare institutions and meet their needs. This involves training outstanding graduates capable of keeping pace with professional technological advancements, as well as developing teaching staff and students in scientific and knowledge research fields.
