The Department of Medical Devices Engineering in the College of Engineering and Information Technology at AlShaab University, in cooperation with the Department of Medical Devices at the Galen Medical Corporation and Al-Amal Medical Company, organized a training workshop for the department’s students on Saturday, May 6 at ten o’clock in the central library hall at the university. The event was attended by Assistant Professor Dr. Bilal Rashid Abdel-Meguid, Dean of the College of Engineering and Information Technology at AlShaab University, Assistant Professor Dr. Ahmed Abd Attia , Head of the Medical Devices Engineering Department, the engineering and medical teams of the Galen Medical Corporation and Al-Amal Medical Company, in addition to a number of AlShaab University faculty, staff, and students. The workshop included a lecture delivered by Engineer Ali Saad Fadel from the Galen Medical Corporation, which listed the types and nature of medical devices that university students learn, and provided a full explanation of the components of these devices and the skills they require, especially with regard to the labor market and the extent of readiness for it.
The lecture was followed by a lively Q & A session in which students’ questions and inquiries led to discussions that enhanced the workshop. Following the Q & A session, students were placed in small groups to learn practical and applied lessons on a number of medical devices presented in the workshop, as well as to get acquainted with other devices specialized in diagnosing and treating some pathological conditions. At the end of the workshop, appreciation certificates were distributed to the lecturers and participants.
